Google — Skateboarding to the Olympics

Strategy

To reverse the negative trend of searching on Google for the term skateboarding, we created the concept of Google Skateboarding to the Olympics. The campaign will generate interest in the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2020 where the sport includes for the first time.


Idea

Google is celebrating skateboarding's entry by touring the continents the Olympic Rings stands for with an experimental skateboarding pop-up, with the final destination being in Tokyo. At the events, teenagers can, for example, learn how to skateboard with help of coaches.
